Get vintage appeal in a snap.
Tin-look tiles can cover an existing backsplash or dress up a plain wall. These affordable, easy-to-install panels have a metallic finish for a touch of sparkle. Paired with shiny hardware and accents, the panels will make even the most basic kitchen look more glamorous.
Step-by-Step Instructions
-
Plastic tiles, which have the look and appeal of tin, can be applied to any clean, blank surface, such as this painted area.
-
Measure the area that the backsplash will cover. Using these measurements, determine the dimensions that you will need for each tile. (The tiles come in 18- x 24-inch pieces.) Measure and the mark the dimensions, and then use a utility knife to cut to size. Use a level or straight-edge as a guide when cutting.
-
Cover existing outlets with coordinating covers. Peel the backing off of the outlet cover piece and lay flat, placing the sticky side up. Place the outlet cover centered and face down on the adhesive sheet. Using a utility knife, cut a square away from each corner. Fold the edge of the adhesive sheet over the outlet cover to create a seamless finish. Turn the cover over, and use a utility knife to carefully cut away the outlet openings.
